Q&A: IDM 9.0 Release Date?
RK writes:
I’ve been thinking about this too. I’ve got a quite a bit of work upcoming in my IDM environment and it might make sense to do it after the next release. I’m just a regular customer (not a professional services provider) so I don’t have any inside information from Sun.
However, if we look at the history of releases we might be able to guess what it will be. IDM 7.1 was released May, 2007. IDM 7.1 Update 1 was released November, 2007. IDM 8.0 was released in the early part of 2008 with the first patch out in August of that year. IDM 8.1 was released early in 2009 with the first patch out April of that year.
So, if we take a guess based on the pattern of release in the past I’d say we can expect to seem IDM 9.0 out early this year. But, that’s up to Sun when they actually get it done.
